The commercial team at Ross & Co has recently acted on behalf of clients to sell a major site in Hailsham, East Sussex. The sale was handled with joint land agent David Evison, and the site sold in Hailsham saw Ross & Co’s commercial property experts arrange the selling of land which has consent for 110 houses for in excess of £4m.
Anton Bree FRICS, Managing Director at Ross & Co, who acted on behalf of his client, commented “This was a very complicated transaction which originally entailed David Evison FRICS and I negotiating a collaboration agreement between our respective clients. Prior to negotiating, a planning agreement was put in place with a specialist, who worked with both David and I to obtain the planning consent. We then jointly marketed the property to developers and I am pleased to announce the matter concluded to everyone’s satisfaction”.
This is the second site where Ross and co-have advised clients and a third site has also exchanged contracts and is due for completion in the very near future. Obtaining the correct advice is essential in particular with recent changes to the planning requirements. For clients based in the East Sussex area, it’s also worth bearing in mind that matters are further complicated in the Wealden district with a moratorium on development sites as a result of their possible impact on the Ashdown Forest.
We have a number of current clients who are actively seeking land with potential and developers wishing to acquire sites that have existing consent.
